Benefits: first and foremost it is open source and free
The whole open source community has worked over years to make it the most comprehensive CMS
Its powerful and flexible
All the futures necessary for universities, teachers and companies
Supports SCORM
Drawbacks: some institutions doesn’t allow the use of Moodle for examinations citing security reasons
Complex to learn, there are too many options and settings
